INMATE INFORMATION

Inmate Visitation

Visitation is 30 minutes with each inmate being allowed 1 visit per week. Visit times are every Wednesday between the hours of 6pm-9:30pm. Visitations will be scheduled in order of calls received (first come first serve). Your name must be on the visitation list to visit. Up to 3 adults/teens, age 15+, allowed each visit with a valid ID. The first Wednesday of every month children of all ages are allowed but must be accompanied by an adult. There is generally no limit to the number of children allowed to visit but is at the jail staff's discretion. To schedule a visit with an inmate housed in our facility call the jail before noon the Wednesday of the visitation at (812) 338-4880.

Inmate Telephone Service

  • Go online to inmatesales.com to purchase voice phone time.  

  • Texting devices, called Chirps, are available for inmates to use.

  • To purchase chirp text messaging, go online to inmatesales.com. Chirps are $0.10 per message for both incoming and outgoing messages.

Inmate Mail

All incoming mail will be screened by an officer before being given to that inmate. No colored ink or pictures. Pictures colored by crayon will be accepted. Pictures can be sent within reason and at the discretion of the officers. Vulgar/nude material will not be allowed. Plain simple cards are allowed no glitter, layers, or pockets. Books can only be purchased and mailed from amazon.com. Only softback books allowed.

Inmate Money

Commissary money can be added one of three ways.

  • Money may be sent by mail in the form of a money order or cashier’s check only. No two party or personal checks allowed.  

  • Money can also be added electronically by going online to jailatm.com.

  • Cash or cards can be used on site at 715 Judicial Plaza English, IN 47118 at the front entrance kiosk.

Inmate Items Accepted

Basic hygiene items are provided to the inmate and additional hygiene items can be purchased from commissary. There are other items that may be brought for inmates if they desire to have them. Most of those items must be new and unopened and are at the discretion of staff and officers.

The following is a list of additional items that may be brought to the Crawford County Jail:
